A recent earthquake devastated Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, impacting nearly 380,000 people and leaving families and communities struggling to rebuild. But even before this crisis, Morocco was grappling with deep-rooted challenges—especially for children and youth.
Youth unemployment remains high, particularly in rural areas, where job opportunities are scarce and education often doesn't align with workforce demands. Vulnerable children—especially orphans—face even steeper challenges accessing basic needs like education, psychosocial support, and nutritious food.
Now, with recovery underway, the need to invest in Morocco’s young people is more urgent than ever.
What Your Donations Will Support
Your contribution will directly fund Islamic Relief’s community development projects in Morocco, supporting efforts such as:
🛍️ Food and Hygiene Support
🏫 School Improvement Projects
🧒🏽 Support for Orphans
This fundraising effort supports Islamic Relief Canada’s community development initiatives in Morocco, as well as Islamic Relief’s global emergency responses wherever the need is greatest.
Your contribution will help empower vulnerable communities, particularly children and youth through educational programs, psychosocial support, school and home rehabilitation, and the distribution of food and hygiene kits. These initiatives address socio-economic challenges, build resilience, and promote long-term self-reliance.
Your support will make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need, exactly where help is needed most.
Why I’m Fundraising
I’m honored to have been selected for the Inspire Internship Program with Islamic Relief Canada Inspire Program—a 3-month field-based placement where I’ll be working in Kenitra, Morocco. This internship is a unique opportunity to gain real-world humanitarian experience by directly contributing to community development projects, particularly those serving vulnerable children and families affected by poverty and the 2023 earthquake.
As part of my internship, I am committed to raising CAD 3,500, which will go directly toward the Islamic Relief’s humanitarian programs supporting orphans, improving schools, delivering psychosocial support, and helping families rebuild their lives with dignity.
What Is the Inspire Program?
The Inspire Program by Islamic Relief Canada is a unique initiative that connects Canadian volunteers with communities around the world through immersive, field-based humanitarian projects.

This program empowers volunteers to engage meaningfully with global and local communities, while gaining practical, hands-on experience in humanitarian development. By deepening their understanding of the complex challenges vulnerable communities face, Inspire equips participants to become informed, compassionate change-makers—both abroad and at home.
