"The best charity is giving water to drink." – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Ashraf Jahan Taj (1939 – 2025) was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Born in Bangalore as the 5th of 7 children, she grew up as an ardent student of the arts of cooking, homemaking, knitting, etc.
She got married to Ataul Haque in 1961, and they celebrated over 50 years together before his passing in 2013. She earned a reputation as a brilliant homemaker.
Nanimi as she was fondly known by her grandchildren and eventually, great grandchildren, was caring, kind and generous. You could never drop in without being fully fed and pampered. Even over the phone, she would start every call with a string of duas, wishing you good health, family life, happiness, work, and everything else that life brought.
She now joins her husband Ataul Haque and her eldest daughter Tabassum Asma.
Please join us in praying for Allah SWT to give her the highest level of Jannah. If you would like to contribute, donations to building this well as Sadaqah e Jariya would be greatly appreciated.
We pray that she is in a better place, safe from suffering and illness.
Thank you, Nanimi for your sacrifices, your care, and everything you have done for us all. You leave behind a part of your legacy in the entire family.
