Why Your Support Matters
Alhamdulillah, we have expanded our presence to Muslims in Antigonish where they don't have access to other masaajid. We're launching this campaign to build on that so we can sustain the house of Allah and continue spreading the deen.
1- As of today, there is no mosque or Musalla for the Muslim community in the whole Antigonish county. Antigonish County has more than 20,000 habitants (as of 2020).
2- The Muslim population in Antigonish county has been growing exponentially since 2015 .
3- There are many Muslim students and employees at St. Francis Xavier University (StFX).
4- There are Muslim physicians working for St. Martha’s Regional Hospital of Antigonish.
The vision of the Antigonish Mosque is to serve as a cultural landmark to gather Muslim youth and adults and to instill Islamic values into their daily life through services and activities that will help the whole community. The recent growth in the Muslim community in Antigonish comes with more challenges in terms of Daawa and Islamic education particularly for kids and youth. The new Mosque will serve the Muslim students in the University as well as the physicians in the regional hospital of Antigonish.
