What support is Islamic Relief currently providing in Sudan?
Islamic Relief began its global operations in Sudan in 1984. As the first country where we deployed humanitarian aid, our work in Sudan has opened the doors to scaling our humanitarian efforts now across 40 countries.
Today, our teams remain by the sides of families in Sudan caught up in the violence, providing aid and distributing supplies daily in Al Jazirah, Sennar, Red Sea, Blue Nile, Gedaref, Khartoum, Central Darfur, and South and West Kordofan states.
Islamic Relief has so far reached 559,132 rights-holders in Sudan through:
🍴3,964 metric tons of food
💵Multipurpose cash assistance to 7,000 families
🧼2,000 hygiene kits, 3,000 water storage kits, and 100 water tanks
🌾206 metric tons of sorghum and sesame seeds to 20,000 farmers
⛑️Medicine and fuel to 18 hospitals and 6 healthcare clinics
🚽New and rehabilitated sanitation facilities, water sources, and latrines
📚Educational materials and supplies for student
🎈Psychosocial support and recreational items
Our work in Sudan is far from over, but because of you, families in Sudan are seeing relief where it’s needed most.
This Giving Tuesday help us continue our life-saving work. Together, we can reach 10,000 people with fresh meals.
