The Bosnian War (1992–1995) left millions displaced and the nation in ruin. While Bosnia has made strides in rebuilding, many still face high unemployment, gender inequality, and limited access to essentials like food, education, and healthcare. Widows and youth continue to migrate in search of security and opportunity. As the Prophet (PBUH) said, “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” – every donation is a step toward relief, dignity, and hope.

From Remembrance to Relief

The Bosnia war, which began in 1992 and ended in 1995, left 4.2 million Bosnians internally and externally displaced, infrastructure destroyed, and resulted in a collapse of the economy. Ever since, the country has made significant progress in reconstructing infrastructure, state-building, and social integration.

However, high unemployment rates and gender inequality continue to negatively impact peoples’ ability to access nutritious food, education and healthcare. The low employment rates have resulted in many of the youth and widow populations to leave the country in search of secure livelihoods elsewhere.

The Prophet PBUH said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
