Help Build a Computer Lab for Vulnerable Children at Dhok Mustaqeem School, Rawalpindi
In the heart of Dhok Mustaqeem, Rawalpindi, a modest school stands as a beacon of hope for 250 children including 135 girls, 115 boys, and 15 orphans from some of the most vulnerable communities. Many of these children come from extremely challenging circumstances. They were once child labourers, street children, or undocumented children unable to attend formal schools. In 2019, Islamic Relief Pakistan launched its Protection of Children at Risk initiative to reach children like these.
Through this program, children were enrolled in non-formal basic education schools, provided with school bags, furniture, and upgraded classrooms, and given the opportunity to study in a safe and supportive environment. While the government provides a minimum stipend to help pay the teachers and keep the school running, Islamic Relief has been funding the school since 2019, ensuring that students receive not just basic education, but dignity and care. The orphans attending this school are also sponsored through Islamic Relief programs.
Today, as these children grow older, they need to match the education standards of other schools including learning basic computer and digital literacy skills. To give them an equal chance at higher education and a brighter future, we are taking the next step in supporting their journey.
