Sponsor Orphans in Pakistan with Sadaf Jamal and Fawad Chughtai

Please note that only donations of $1,080 CAD or more qualify for the assignment of an orphan for one-year, in accordance with our one-on-one sponsorship model at Islamic Relief Canada. The sponsorship will need to be renewed for a $90 CAD monthly sponsorship afterwards.


After having joined the volunteering abroad program with Islamic Relief Canada in Islamabad, Pakistan, we  have taken on the initiative to sponsor 150 orphans in Pakistan as our ongoing commitment to support orphans and children-in-need. With the help of many inspire.changemaker volunteers, we are currently raising funds for sponsoring orphans in Pakistan (through the Inspire Program).

There are more than 4.6 million orphan children in Pakistan and the majority of this population is below the age of 17 (UNICEF). Through a one-to-one model of ongoing financial support, you can sponsor an orphan and care for their basic needs and wellbeing. Your monthly donation is life-saving, and helps to ensure that they have a safe home, food to eat, and access to health care and education.

Who are we?

Sadaf and Fawad are a Canadian couple with Pakistani heritage. Their son is part of IRC’s Seeds of Leadership Program, a youth development initiative, which sparked their interest in supporting meaningful community projects.

In a heartfelt response to a dire need, Sadaf and Fawad have embarked on their passion project to support 150 orphans in Pakistan through a transformative fundraising initiative. Driven by a deep-seated compassion and a shared vision for a brighter future for these vulnerable children, this dedicated couple has set out to rally their community and beyond, aiming to provide essential resources and a nurturing environment for them. They are joined by many inspire.changemaker volunteers to help them in this cause. Their initiative seeks not only to alleviate immediate hardships but also to lay the foundation for long-term stability and hope for the orphans.

Inspire Program

Islamic Relief Canada’s Volunteer Abroad Programs are a unique way to contribute to some of IR Canada’s international projects. Before volunteering abroad, selected volunteers to raise funds that go directly to the project they will be assisting with.
While on the field study, volunteers will be part of a collaborative program where they will take part in several activities, including peer-to-peer learning opportunities, food distributions, beneficiary home visits, and building refurbishment.
This experience allows volunteers to see an existing IR Canada project, contribute to the project through their fundraising efforts, and positively interact with beneficiaries and project staff.
