Sri Lanka & Indonesia Emergency Response Appeal

Floods and landslides in Indonesia and Sri Lanka in December 2025 displaced millions, with floodwaters rising to rooftops in some areas. Entire villages were swept away, and thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed. Islamic relief teams are delivering urgent support and coordinating with local authorities, reaching remote areas and delivering food packs, hygiene items, and cash assistance.

Climate-fuelled cyclones and heavy monsoon rains have sparked one of the deadliest weather emergencies in South and Southeast Asia in years, leaving more than 1,600 people dead, forcing hundreds of thousands from their homes, and affecting millions (United Nations, 2025). In both countries, hundreds of bridges and major roads have been destroyed, cutting off communities and preventing emergency aid from reaching families (Islamic Relief Canada).
