Who Are We?

The Inspire volunteer abroad program at Islamic Relief Canada is a unique opportunity that provides hands-on education to volunteers on the field and at home.  Over the past 7 years, we have taken 40 cohorts to 9 different countries to learn from our teams and right-holders on the ground. This program focuses on having volunteers raise donations and awareness while allowing them to serve their communities locally and globally.  Through this experience, IRC volunteers will engage directly with vulnerable community members and orphans in Morocco in order to better understand their circumstances and raise awareness. Support our volunteers and take part in supporting this noble cause! 

What is this for?

This fundraising effort supports Islamic Relief Canada’s community development projects in Morocco, as well as Islamic Relief's global emergency initiatives wherever the need is greatest. Your contributions will directly empower vulnerable communities, particularly children and youth, through educational programs, psychosocial support activities, community service projects such as school and home rehabilitation, and the distribution of food and hygiene kits. These initiatives address socio-economic challenges, build resilience, and promote long-term self-reliance. Your support will make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need, where it is needed most. $80 can cover clothing gifts for an orphan $90 can cover the expenses for an orphan for 1 month $270 can cover the expenses for an orphan for 3 month $540 can cover the expenses for an orphan for 6 month   $1,080 can sponsor an orphan for 1 year

What will I be doing?

Over the duration of the field study, we will focus on providing orphans with psychosocial support and educational activities in addition to house rehabilitation, distribution of food and hygiene items and other community service activities.

Inspire Program

Islamic Relief Canada’s Volunteer Abroad Programs are a unique way to contribute to some of IR Canada’s international projects. Prior to volunteering abroad, selected volunteers to raise funds that go directly to the project they will be assisting with. While on the field study, volunteers will be part of a collaborative program where they will take part in several activities, including peer-to-peer learning opportunities, food distributions, beneficiary home visits, and building refurbishment.   This experience allows volunteers to see an existing IR Canada project, contribute to the project through their fundraising efforts, and positively interact with beneficiaries and project staff.

Islamic Relief: Morrocco

Islamic Relief Canada has been actively involved in Morocco, particularly in times of crisis. Recently, following a devastating earthquake, Islamic Relief teams swiftly mobilized on the ground alongside local partners to provide crucial aid. Immediate efforts have focused on delivering urgent food supplies, emergency shelter, and basic necessities to affected communities. Recognizing the long-term impact of such disasters, Islamic Relief Canada has initiated plans, in collaboration with local authorities and organizations, to construct permanent shelters. These efforts aim to offer durable housing solutions to families who have endured displacement, providing them with a stable foundation to rebuild their lives. Through these initiatives, Islamic Relief Canada continues its commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and fostering resilience in Morocco's communities.
