Nights of Hidden Mercy

It is reported that Ali ibn Abi Talib would secretly visit homes of widows and orphans at night, carrying food on his own back so no one would feel ashamed receiving help.

He would cook for them, feed the children, and even play with them so they would not feel the pain of being without a father.

The families often did not know who their helper was — until after his passing, when the night visits stopped.

This is the example of true compassion in Islam:
Serve the orphan quietly, sincerely, and for the sake of Allah alone.
