Water Crisis in Somalia

Severe droughts in Somalia have left families without clean water, forcing women and children to walk miles just to survive. The crisis is worsening, increasing the risk of dehydration, disease, and food shortages. 2.9 million people have been displaced due to conflict, insecurity, droughts, and floods (UNHCR, 2021)

This Ramadan, a few students in collaboration with the Somali Student Association are working together to build a community well that will provide a sustainable source of clean water for an entire village. This is Sadaqa Jariya, a lasting charity that continues to benefit others for years to come.
