Empowering Mobility: Basketball Wheelchair Fundraising Campaign

Islamic Relief Canada, in support with Muhsen, is launching a campaign to raise funds for our Domestic Disability Programming. This initiative focuses on providing essential resources such as adaptive sports opportunities, wheelchairs, and additional support services so that individuals with disabilities can fully participate in recreational and community activities. For many individuals with disabilities, sports are not only a way to feel included and connected within society, they also serve as an important form of physiotherapy that strengthens their physical and mental well-being. We are especially committed to supporting marginalized, racialized, newcomer, overlooked, and underserved minority individuals who face additional barriers to inclusion. Too many members of our community are currently unable to take part in programs and sports due to the lack of proper equipment and accessibility, and this campaign aims to remove those barriers and ensure everyone has the opportunity to feel supported, empowered, and dignified. Our goal is to raise $50,000, with wheelchair costs alone ranging between $30,000 and $40,000. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly impacts the lives of individuals and families who deserve equal access to community life.
