In Loving Memory of Sr. Hend Lawendy – A Lasting Sadaqah Jariyah

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our beloved Sr. Hend Lawendy. Sr. Hend was truly a pillar of our community — a woman of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She consistently gave her time, care, and support, especially to students at Western University and to countless members of our community who were touched by her compassion.

Her legacy is one of service and selflessness. She lived a life of giving for the sake of Allah, always seeking to uplift others without seeking recognition.

In her memory, and as a means to continue her good deeds, we are launching a Sadaqah Jariyah water well donation in the name of Sr. Hend Lawendy. A water well is a source of ongoing reward — providing life-sustaining water to those in need long after we have returned to Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Muslim)

By donating to this water well, you are helping increase Sr. Hend’s rewards in the Hereafter while providing a vital necessity to communities in need.

We invite you to honour her memory, uplift her soul, and be part of this lasting charity by donating in her name.

May Allah ﷻ forgive Sr. Hend, shower her with mercy, grant her Jannatul Firdaus, and make this water well a means of light in her grave. May Allah reward all those who give and grant patience and strength to her family.
