Once again, Afghanistan has been hit with a devastating 6.0 earthquake, killing over 1,400 people and injuring at least 3000. The tremors struck hardest in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, where entire villages were destroyed and communities in the mountains were cut off by landslides.

A powerful 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, August 31, devastating the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar and causing widespread destruction.

As of September 2, over 1,400+ people have been confirmed dead, and over 3,000 are injured. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue operations continue.

Entire villages have been reduced to rubble, and many areas remain inaccessible due to landslides and damaged infrastructure. Rescue teams are working tirelessly, but the challenging terrain and limited resources are hindering efforts.
