People in Sudan face escalating violence and danger
With the civil war continuing to rage across Sudan, civilians continue to suffer the brunt of the violence. Over 9 million people have been displaced, and 24+ million are in need of humanitarian assistance.
More than 13,000 civilians have now been killed and thousands more injured as heavy fighting continues throughout residential areas. Hospitals are surrounded and quickly depleting of supplies, preventing the wounded from accessing desperately needed medical care — 70% of healthcare facilities in Sudan have shut down since the fighting began in April 2023.
Hunger threatens the countless displaced. Over 18 million Sudanese face acute hunger, including 3.6 million children who are acutely malnourished. The food crisis is quickly becoming one of the worst globally.
