Empowering Our Mosques, Empowering Our Community
Alhamdulillah after years of concern about establishing a house of Allah and many years of Dua, Allah (SWT) has given us a place of worship. In order to make this property into a place of worship (Abu Bakr Islamic Centre), a lot of hard work and dedication was required. The Islamic Centre was purchased for $1.44 million on Qard-e-Hasana (Interest Free Loan) and additional $25,000 was spent on Renovations.
We plan to aquire the services of a full-time Imam Inshaa Allah. Following that, a maktab system for our children’s Islamic education will be impleneted. Many other activities and programs will also be implemented in the months to come Inshaa Allah.
Currently, the operating cost of Abu Bakr Islamic Centre are very demanding. As such, we are strongly appealing to all Muslims locally and internationally to donate generously towards the maintenance of the House of Allah. Spending in the cause of Allah will never decrease your wealth, on the contrary it will definitely increase your wealth as promised by Allah and you will be rewarded in the Hereafter Inshaa Allah. Abubakr - The Islamic Centre
Abu Bakr Islamic Center was inaugurated in Ramadan 2016. We have steady growth to the point where we now have two Jumahs along with numerous events benefiting the community. We have also forged a strong relationship with all three levels of government as well as the RCMP. Abu Bakr Islamic Centre caters to Muslims living in Chimney Heights, Bear Creek, and Enver Creek neighborhoods of Surrey. We have prayer space for approximately 210 people.
Islamic Relief works with communities to strengthen their resilience to calamities, and we provide vital emergency aid when disasters occur.
We help the impoverished access basic services, including education, water and sanitation, as well as healthcare. We provide lasting routes out of poverty through our sustainable development schemes. Our integrated approach to progress is transforming communities worldwide.
We tackle the root causes of poverty and make sure that the world’s most vulnerable people have real influence in both our programs and advocacy.
Our key values, of compassion, justice, custodianship, sincerity and excellence – a critical part of our Islamic faith - inspire us each and every day to create positive change and remember the sanctity of life.
In line with Islamic teachings on the value of every human life, we provide assistance to whoever needs it most, regardless of race, religion or gender. We work to transform and save lives of people in crisis both Canada and across the world.
