Dear Members of the Calgary Muslim Community,

It is with immense joy and gratitude that we share the wonderful news of the successful groundbreaking event that took place for our new Islamic Center in the deep south of Calgary at the masjid site on Saturday, the Feb 3rb 2024 at 9:30 AM

Over 100 individuals, comprising brothers, sisters, and children from various corners of our city, came together to witness and participate in this momentous occasion. The presence of such an enthusiastic crowd truly highlighted the unity and strength of our community.

We were honored to have esteemed guests present at the ceremony, including the Chairman of the Muslims Council of Calgary (MCC) Mr. Omer El-Hajjar, Sheikh Jamal Hamoud, Calgary City Mayor Jyoti Gondek, Councillor Mr. Evan Spenser, and leaders and board members of all Islamic centers from throughout the city and from various segments of our Muslim community. The groundbreaking itself was a collaborative effort, symbolizing the unity and commitment of our community members.

We were also blessed with the presence and support of prominent leader Mr. Mike Sheikh and Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism of Alberta Mr. Muhammad Yaseen. Their attendance at our event is a testament to the significance of our project and its positive impact on our community.

The groundbreaking ceremony was not only a step towards the physical construction of our new Islamic Center but also a symbolic moment of unity, collaboration, and support from all corners of our community.

As we embark on this transformative journey, we are filled with hope and optimism for the future. Your presence, prayers, and support have laid a strong foundation for the success of this project, and we look forward to your continued involvement and support as we progress.
